51 tertiary students in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality today received Government Scholarships worth Eighty Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 82,000) as Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality presented the award letters to the beneficiaries in a short ceremony at the Municipal Assembly Hall.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh in his brief speech stated that because of the committed quest of the ruling NPP government to decentralised all government programs and policies, the government scholarship scheme had been decentralised to the MMDA’S level where the Assemblies received applications and after interviewing the numerous applicants 51 tertiary students in his Municipality has been awarded with this scholarship for the Academic year.
He continued to challenge all the beneficiaries to work hard since this is a high level investment Ghana is making into their future and they must go out as good Ambassadors of the good deeds of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic.
Two of the beneficiaries are medical students who will have fees for the academic year fully taken care of by Government as one of them in an interview with our team said this has brought a great relief to him which will help him have his peace of mind to study.
The short ceremony was witnessed by staff of the Municipal Assembly, stakeholders in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and some executive members of the NPP in the Constituency.
