Matron runs away after being caught stealing food from school

    The matron of St. Pauls Technical School in Akyem Kukurantumi in Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern Region, only identified as Madam Comfort is currently on Police wanted list for allegedly stealing food items from the school’s kitchen.

    Students of the school on Sunday rioted and impounded a cab which was used by the matron to transport food stuff believed to have been stolen from the school’s pantry.

    The cab with registration number AS 3074 -15 had its tyres deflated by the angry students after Madam Comfort and the driver of the car took their heels.

    Reports say, a formal complaint was lodged by the Headmaster, Benjamin Adjabeng at the Akyem Kukurantumi Police station.

    The alleged stolen food items included nine buckets of groundnuts paste, one bag of millet, four boxes of tin tomatoes, three bags of rice, three bags of flour, two bags of sugar and one large gallon of cooking oil.

    The police arrested an accomplice at the school’s kitchen to assist them in their investigation.
