Memphis Depay sent a message to his injured Dutch team-mate Virgil van Dijk after scoring for Lyon on Sunday.
Liverpool defender van Dijk is set to be out for the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury following a challenge from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford last weekend.
Depay, who plays with van Dijk for the Netherlands, was quick to pay tribute to the centre-back after scoring.
Former Manchester United player Depay put Lyon in the lead against Monaco as he scored in the 12th minute of the game.
As part of his celebration, Depay unveiled a t-shirt with the message: ‘Virgil Stay strong my brother’.
Depay has enjoyed a hugely impressive start to the campaign, with his goal against Monaco his fifth strike in eight appearances this season.
Van Dijk, meanwhile, could miss Euro 2020 next summer, which would be a huge blow for Holland.
However, Depay could have a major part to play at the tournament.
