Mercy Chinwo Sets the Record Straight on Legal Dispute with Former Manager Eezee Conceptz
Award-winning Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, has broken her silence over the legal battle involving her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod (popularly known as Eezee Conceptz), refuting widespread claims that she initiated the lawsuit.
In an emotional Instagram video, Mercy clarified that it was Eezee Conceptz who took legal action against her, contrary to the false narratives circulating online. The singer, visibly distressed, addressed the accusations, calling them misleading and damaging to her reputation.

Mercy Chinwo Denies Filing Lawsuit Against Eezee Conceptz
Responding to Eezee Conceptz’s claims that she dragged him to court, Mercy presented legal documents proving that it was actually her former manager who sued her.
“He came online, made videos to tarnish my image… He said I took him to court, but here are the documents. It was actually him who took me and Minister Judy Kay to court, not the other way around,” Mercy stated.
The gospel star, who gained fame under Eezee Conceptz’s management, expressed frustration over being wrongly portrayed as the aggressor in the situation. She emphasized that she had endured years of mistreatment, which eventually led her to sever ties with the label.

A Toxic Work Relationship & Emotional Distress
Mercy Chinwo revealed that her relationship with Eezee Conceptz was far from smooth, citing exploitation, withheld royalties, and coercion to sign an extended contract after her original deal expired in 2017.
“After my contract ended, I discovered that my royalties were withheld, and they attempted to force me into signing a new, extended contract, which I rejected,” she said.
The tension between them escalated to a point where Mercy had to leave Lagos for Port Harcourt due to what she described as an intolerable and toxic environment.
“I became scared for my life. It got to a point where I had to move because this man made the environment toxic for me,” she revealed.
Mercy Chinwo Calls Eezee Conceptz a “Bully and Oppressor”
In her video, Mercy did not hold back, openly calling Eezee Conceptz a “bully” and an “oppressor” who attempted to control and intimidate her. She also debunked his claims that he paid her over $625,000, stating that financial matters were manipulated to suit his narrative.
“You said you made me and you have the power to destroy me, but you are not God,” Mercy said, reinforcing her faith in divine justice.
