Some aggrieved residents of Mankessim, the capital of the Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region say they suspect the killing of their Member of Parliament (MP), Ekow Quansah Hayford is politically motivated.
The late MP was shot in the spinal cord by robbers around 1:00am on Friday Morning while returning from a campaign in the constituency.
Eye witnesses say the robbers stopped him and his convoy and asked him to step out of the car before shooting him.
This account, some residents say lay credence to the fact that their MP was murdered by people who may have interest in his position.
The angry residents insisted the MP was someone who was highly tipped to retain his seat.
His opponents, the residents claimed didn’t know how to battle him in the elections and that might have led to the attack on him.
