The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency, Benito Owusu Bio has said that he suspects the robbery attack on the late Mfantseman MP, Ekow Quansah was planned.

He has therefore appealed to the security agencies to speed up investigations into the matter since according to him, there are more questions than answers.

“I think it just a mere robbers but some people planned that since they were in a party car campaigning” he said in an interview on the sidelines of the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Atwima Nwabiagya Rural Bank.

Member of Parliament for Mfatseman Constituency Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot dead on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road while returning from a campaign trip of the area.

His claim backs an earlier one by Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong that he suspects the murder of the late MP qualifies as ‘contract killing’.

Ken Agyapong made the allegation when he paid a courtesy call on the family to express his condolences on Monday.

While warning some persons who described themselves as eyewitnesses, Mr Agyapong said their narratives were hindering the investigation by the police.

The vociferous MP said this is making it difficult for the facts surrounding the attack to be ascertained.

Explaining further, Mr Agyapong said, the police currently have on record a man who alleges to have been present during the attack on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region but his narration does not seem to add up.
