MobileMoney LTD (MML) marked its 15th anniversary with a nationwide awards ceremony to recognize the outstanding contributions of its Partners, Agents, and Merchants. These key stakeholders have been instrumental in the growth and success of MTN MoMo, driving financial inclusion across Ghana.

A Decade and a Half of Transforming Ghana’s FinTech Landscape
At the National Awards Night held in Accra, Shaibu Haruna, the Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney LTD, expressed gratitude to the Bank of Ghana and other partners for their unwavering support over the past 15 years.
“After 15 years, we are proud to have co-created and significantly contributed to Ghana’s FinTech industry through both direct and indirect employment of Ghanaians,” said Mr. Haruna. “We continue to drive government revenue, facilitate business growth, and create digital entrepreneurs. Above all, MTN MoMo has brought dignity to countless Ghanaians through the transformative power of financial inclusion.”
Future Prospects for MTN MoMo
Looking ahead, Mr. Haruna highlighted significant opportunities in digital payments, cross-border payments, insurance, investment, and e-commerce. “Our ambition for the next decade is to provide ‘financial freedom’ for every Ghanaian, and we aim to achieve this through strong partnerships,” he concluded.
