A former Member of Parliament for Akwatia Baba Jamal has failed to win the national organiser slot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as he was beaten by Joshua Hamidu Akamba the man who was arrested for leading John Mahama to a senior high school to campaign.

He polled 3,087 votes in the provisional results released by the Electoral Commission Sunday after two-day marathon voting to elect national delegates of the NDC in Accra.

Baba Jamal who was tipped together with former National Organiser Yaw Boateng Gyan to win the election garnered 2,106 of the votes. Mr, Gyan managed only 1842 votes.

In August this year, he issued a warning to the New Patriotic Party to prepare as his election will spell doom for the party.

“The very day I am elected the NDC’s National Organiser, the NPP government should start packing bag and baggage because that will spell the ruling party’s doom,” he told journalists at Akwatia at the time.
