The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has said that he is satisfied with the election of Joshua Akamba as the National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Baba Jamal and former National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan who were all highly tipped to win the position failed to win the elections.
They were beaten by Joshua Hamidu Akamba the man who was arrested for leading John Mahama to a Senior High School to campaign. They have all conceded defeat.
Sammi Awuku who was reacting to this on Accra-based Okay FM as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said he was satisfied with the election of Akamba as the National Organiser.
He claimed that he would have been taken aback had the party’s delegates elected either Baba Jamal or Yaw Boateng Gyan as their National Organiser.
“I would’ve been worried if Baba Jamal or Yaw Boateng Gyan had won NPP’s National Organiser post but with Akamba, we would manage…,” he said.
Sammy however declined to comment on the weaknesses he found in the organization of the congress as according to him, he would exploit that and more to beat the NDC again in 2020.
Joshua Akamba was among the many executives that were elected to various positions at the congress over the weekend.
