The President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Reverend Professor Paul Frimpong-Manso has said that the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) introduced into the curricula of basic schools is “Comprehensive Satanic Education” being imposed on children by the government with the aim to pervert and destroy society.
In an interview with Kwabena Prah Jnr (the Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Monday, 30 September 2019, the clergyman said teaching primary school pupils about sex is a wrong idea.
“This is a Comprehensive Satanic Education,” Prof Frimpong-Manso said.
In his view, it will expose children to perverse sexual activities at a very early age, a situation he fears could harm society’s moral fibre.
Reacting to the cleric’s comments, however, an MP-aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Akwatia, Mr Ernest Kumi, said Prof Frimpong-Boateng was entitled to his opinion since, according to him, the man of God was “looking at this matter from the religious viewpoint but I disagree with him.”
Mr Kuma added: “It’s important to teach our children sexual education to open their minds to the reality so they will not be misinformed by anyone.”
