Black Stars defender Nicholas Opoku will likely miss Ghana’s friendly game against Qatar on Monday, after bruising a muscle in his right leg in the team’s 3-0 loss to Mali on Friday.

Opoku hobbled off in the 79th minute after going in for a tackle on Mali striker Coulibaly Lassana and was replaced by Joseph Aidoo.

The medical team of the Black Stars is currently working to get him back to full fitness ahead of the encounter.

The Black Stars face Asian Champions Qatar on Monday at the Titanic sports complex in Antalya, Turkey.

C.K Akonnor will be looking to secure his first victory as Black Stars head coach after Friday’s defeat to Mali.
