JUST IN: NPP is majority caucus in Parliament – Bagbin declares

    Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has ruled that the NPP caucus in Parliament represents the majority in the house.

    The speaker made the declaration in the house at the first sitting of the 8th Parliament.

    The issue of which party should be declared the majority caucus became an issue under contention after both the NPP and the NDC failed to secure a sweeping majority of Parliamentary seats.

    Fomena MP and second deputy speaker, Andrew Asiamah who is the independent candidate decided to do business with the NPP making them have a clear majority.
