The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, has threatened to vacate his position as Member of Parliament (MP) if Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is able to provide evidence to back his claim that the Foreign Affairs Ministry engaged itself in acts of corruption in the Oslo building.
Frank Annoh-Dompreh speaking on Okay FM as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said he is shocked at the persistent claims by the North Tongu MP that the Ministry has started paying for the controversial building.
“Okudzeto is becoming a nuisance to the committee…if he is able to provide evidence to back his corruption allegations, I will resign as Member of Parliament…,” he said.
According to Mr Annoh-Dompreh, no agreement has been reached by the government for anybody to impute criminality in the first place.
Mr Ablakwa had accused Ms Ayorkor Botchway of cost inflation in connection with Ghana’s attempt to buy a property in Norway to serve as its Chancery, an allegation the sector minister had denied.
Although the minister denied the accusations, Mr Ablakwa went a step further to petition President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to investigate the matter, a petition the president has dismissed as “empty of substance”.
Annoh-Prempeh said he is shocked that Okudzeto could still be gong round peddling lies despite the reactions from the President and the Foreign Ministry.
