A 9-year-old boy met his untimely death on Sunday dawn when a falling Analogue TV (Atikɔ pɔ) crashed him to death while sleeping.
The incident occurred at Nsuaem in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, whose name has only been given as Kwame Asamoah was sleeping in the same room with his parents and his younger sibling when the Television set which is about 34 inches in size fell on his head, killing him instantly.
Father of the deceased narrated to GhanaNewsPage.Com’s correspondent, Davis Addae that the boy while sleeping on the floor with his sibling hit himself against the table on which the TV was sitting while turning himself.
The TV, according to the father, slipped from the table and fell on the boy who was sleeping on the floor.
Neighbours however told Davis that the boy’s father caused the TV to slip from the table and crash the boy to death.
Some of the neighbours who spoke to Davis revealed that the father had tied a mosquito net against the foot of the table. The boy and his sister slept in the mosquito net at the foot of the table.
The father, according to reports, hit his leg against the mosquito net unknowingly leading to the fall of the TV set from the table.
The parents were said to have taken the boy to the Nsuaem Hospital, they were transferred to the Konongo Hospital but the boy died on the way.
The mother of the deceased who is still in shock is said to be in coma and currently on admission at the Nsuaem hospital.
