The Municipal Chief Executive of Asamankese, Hon Seth Oduro Boadu in his quest to improve educational standards within the West Akim Municipality, has handed-over a newly constructed and fully furnished Kindergarten (KG) block to the Municipal Education Directorate.

The project was necessitated by the growing number of pupils in the Ekoso K.G thereby compelling teachers to combine K.G and Class 1 pupils in the same classroom as a result of inadequate classrooms.

This precarious situation came to bare during the familiarization and community engagement visits of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in November 2017.

The Hon. MCE made a pledge to the chiefs, elders and citizens of Ekoso to use his good office to address the challenge.

“Today marks the day for the fulfillment of that promise to the good people of Ekoso community which consists of 2classrooms, Dinning & Store, office & store for head teacher, 4-seater Water Closet facility and 2 urinal and a fenced play ground with merry-go-round and a seesaw…he said”

The facility was stocked with 120 KG chairs and 20 round tables for the use of the pupils.

In handing over the facility, the Hon. MCE urged the good people of Ekoso to acquire the culture of maintenance in order to prolong the life span of the facility since it’s now a property of the community and their children are the direct beneficiaries.

The Municipal Chief Executive also took the opportunity to present another set of 120 pieces of chairs and 20 round table to the headmaster of Topease for the use of their KG pupils.

Topease KG is one of the educational Projects that was constructed and commissioned by the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive last month to better address the deplorable structure that was used by the KG pupils in Topease.

The chief of Ekoso on behalf of the community expressed their profound gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive for his Proactiveness in addressing issues confronting the people. He alluded that the Hon. MCE was a man of his words who delivers on his promises.

He assured him that the community will ensure that the facility is maintained for generations yet unborn to benefit.
