The Bank of Ghana yesterday released a report that five banks in the country have been taken over and merged to form the Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited.

The Banks that were mentioned in the report included UniBank, Sovereign Bank, Construction Bank, Royal Bank, and Beige Bank.

The banks as of 9am had not opened to start operations in all of their branches as they would have normally done but instead the premises of the banks remain closed with notices on their doors informing customers and clients that they will be opened this afternoon at 1:00pm

The premises are very calm as of this morning and customers have not massed up at any of the banks so far.
