The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA), Samuel Atta Mills is constructing a maternity block for the Komenda Clinic in his constituency.

The new block will replace an existing maternity block which is mice-infested and not in the best of shapes for use by the health facility.

In line with this, the Legislator has donated 100 bags of cement to the people for the manufacturing of blocks for the maternity block.

The block will be named after late President John Evans Atta Mills, who is the brother of the MP.

The maternity block will have a delivery, recovery and waiting rooms to help sustain the “quality delivery” at the Komenda clinic.

Mr Samuel Atta Mills told GhanaNewsPage.Com that the maternity block is being funded partly from the MPs Common Fund and from personal donations.

The NDC MP said this is not the first time he is personally undertaken a philanthropic gesture for the community as he previously renovated their family residence for use by teachers.

He also provided water for some communities in the constituency even when he was not an MP for the area.
