The Black Stars of Ghana returned to winning ways as they beat Qatar 5-1 in Charles Akonnor’s second game as head coach of the Black Stars.

At the end of the game, the Ghana News Page Sports team rated the individual performance of the team as they recorded their first win in two games.

Match Ratings:

Razak Abalora: 5.5 – Had little to do but was confident, commanding the backline very well.

Benson Anang: 6.0 – He was the weakest link in the defense but came up with some good attacks and crosses.

Alexander Djiku: 6.5 – Very calm, composed, and blocked a few threats.

Joseph Aidoo: 6.0 – Could have done better with the Qatar goal and looked nervous sometimes.

Gideon Mensah: 6.0 – An improvement in overall gameplay.

Idrissu Baba: 7.0 – Had a very good partnership with Partey. Good communication and solid defending, shielding the backline well.

Thomas Partey: 8.0 – Two assists coupled with a brilliant partnership with Baba Idrissu.

Tarique Fosu: 7.5 – The Brentford player grabbed his first Black Stars goal coupled with some impressive runs to trouble the Qatari defensive lines.

Samuel Owusu: 9.0 – He was Ghana’s primary threat and constantly gave the team the needed width and penetration.

Dede Ayew: 9.0 – Led by example. Found himself at the right places at the right time to grab his two goals of the game.

Jordan Ayew: 8.0 – Two assists and generally good gameplay to help the team beat Qatar.

Ekuban: 6.0 – Found came on and headed home Ghana’s 5th of the night.

Kamaldeen Sulemana: 5.5 – Barely lost possession and passed the ball very well.

Yakubu Mohammed: N/A.
