Police investigates shooting to death of woman at Nima wedding

    The Accra regional police command has launched an investigation into the death of a 26-year-old woman at Nima Free Pipe during a Muslim wedding ceremony.

    Eunice Kessewa Yeboah, a fuel station attendant, was shot in the derriere on 22 August 2021 during the marriage ceremony.

    A statement issued by the police on Saturday, 28 August 2021, said the victim died on Tuesday, 24 August 2021 after being rushed to the hospital.

    The organisers of the wedding ceremony, as well as the newly-weds, have been arrested by the police to assist with the investigation.

    The police is also working with community leaders in the area as it gathers intelligence to unravel the situation.

    The police has urged anyone with information regarding the incident to approach them.
