Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is calling on the Police to invite former President John Mahama for questioning over the shootings at the Headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi which led to the death of one person.

According to the maverick politician, the ex-President must be invited because he knows more about the vigilante group, the Hawks and their activities.

“The Police must invite Mahama for questioning too, he knows more about the Ksi NDC shootings…,” he said on Net 2 TV as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.

Ken Agyapong had prior to this alleged that the former President founded the Hawks to take care of his personal interests.

“Mahama founded the Hawks so if today, the Hawks are killing people, Mahama must be held responsible…the evil that men do lies after them,” he alleged on Adom TV on Tuesday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.

Ken Agyapong further claimed that one of the four wanted persons in the shooting to death of an NDC sympathizer at the premises of the Ashanti Regional Headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi, is a known bodyguard of the ex-President.

“The Abu Taliban guy, who is the fourth person on the list he’s always following Mahama…you see, the Hawks he established to counter Akufo-Addo is chasing him…he knows the boys.

“When this boy beat up Ursula Owusu and Abu Jinapor, I was charged with treason when I spoke about it…,” he alleged further.

Abu Taliban is among four persons alleged to be members of pro-NDC vigilante group “The Hawks” who have been declared wanted by the Ashanti Regional Police Command in connection with the shooting incident that happened at the regional office of the NDC on Monday, 18 February 2019.

The incident claimed one life while one person is in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The other suspects, according to the police are Warrior, Damous and Mijima.

Regional police PRO, ASP Godwin Ahianyo told the media at a press briefing that the incident happened when gun-toting men on motorbikes alleged to be members of The Hawks evaded the NDC premises and fired several gunshots indiscriminately.

ASP Ahianyo said the police are pursuing the suspects for their arrest.

He noted that the crime scene has been cordoned off to enable the police conduct investigations.
