An aide to former President, John Agyekum Kufour has called on Ghanaians to discard rumours making rounds on social media that the former President has passed away.

An audio making rounds on particularly Whatsapp platforms communicated that the ex-Ghanaian leader has kicked the bucket.

Reacting to this in a chat with GhanaNewsPage.Com, the aide said the former President is fine and in the house.

According to the aide, he has often wondered why some Ghanaians always seek to spread fake news about notable personalities.

“For about a month now, I have been receiving calls from several people asking if this rumour is true and I wonder who is spreading that news.

“We would have notified the Chief of Staff who would in turn inform the President about the news and it will be made public…,” the source added.

A top media personality in this country who is in constant touch with the former President corroborated this claim by the aide.

“Oh, former President Kufour is doing well, I spoke to him yesterday…there is no indication that he is sick or not doing well…,” he said.

The two further charged Ghanaians to stop cooking up unfortunate news about Ghanaian leaders all the time.
