Unconfirmed reports by the Al-Hajj newspaper claims that the Rawlingses want to take over the NDC

The newspaper believes Jerry Rawlings is setting out an agenda to kick John Mahama out of the flagbearership position come 2020.

The Al-hajj newspaper is claiming that the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry Rawlings together with his wife, Konadu Rawlings is considering taking over the helms of the opposition.

Unconfirmed reports by the newspaper indicate that the Rawlingses are allegedly conspiring to prevent former president, John Mahama from contesting the 2020 elections.

According to the Newspaper, some key personalities of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are secretly meeting the Rawlingses at Ridge “to launch image smearing campaign and scathing attacks on immediate-past president, Mr John Mahama as soon as the committee submits its report in order to “convince members of the party not give him another opportunity to lead the party.”

“I can tell you that the old man (Mr Rawlings), madam (Mrs Rawlings), Martin and others have been meeting and they have agreed that soon after Kwesi and his people submit their report, old man will start touring the regions to talk to our supporters,” a source who was at one of the meetings is claimed to have told The aL-hAJJ.
