“They (customers) better still, they should return the gold collectibles to the customers if they indeed have them…,” he challenged the management of the company on Peace FM on Friday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com
The MP who claimed he was once a victim of Microfinance fraud threatened to call on customers of the company to go for their investments if they fail to.
“Any Ghanaian whose investment is at MenzGold should go and form a queue and go for their gold, period so they won’t be any trouble…,” he said further.
Management of Menzgold announced Thursday morning that it has temporarily halted its collectibles and any new business related to its gold vault market with immediate effect.
According to the company, the halt of what is also called extra value payments takes effect from today Thursday, September 13 and will be in place for six days, “by which time we believe all pending issues related to the Gold Vault Market Product would have been ironed out.”
GhanaNewsPage.Com on Wednesday broke the news that the Securities and Exchanges Commission has asked Mezgold to seize operations.
Several people particularly celebrities which benefited from the activities of MenzGold have taken to social media to lambast the state institution for taking that course of action.
But the MP said he stands by the state institutions’ actions and hence challenged MenzGold to give back the Gold in their possession to customers.
