The Executive Director of pro-NDC think tank, ASEPA, Mensah Thompson has alleged that Communications Director of the opposition party, Sammy Gyamfi was given an amount of GHC 1.8 million during the 2020 electioneering campaign.
Mr Thompson made the allegation while reacting to a Facebook post by the Communications Director, tagging Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Muntaka Mubarak and Haruna Iddrisu as betrayers and hypocrites.
Sammy Gyamfi in the widely publicised Facebook post accused the leadership of the NDC’s Parliamentary group and the Speaker of the 8th Parliament of betraying the party for their own parochial interest.
Mensah Thompson however accused Sammy Gyamfi of receiving GHC 1.8 million from the party for his rounds during the electioneering campaign.
He in his post questioned Sammy Gyamfi what his output was in the general elections after receiving the amount.
Mr Thompson held the view that the Lawyer and Communications Director lacks the moral right to attack the party’s MPs who gave them 137 seats and a Speaker of Parliament with just GHC 5,000 each as his output was poor.
“You got at least GHC 1.8 million cedis for the elections and what was your output?
The MPS with just 5, 000 each were able to give you 137 seats and a Speaker of Parliament. And you have the effrontery to go out and attack them?
Because of why?” Mensah Thompson wrote.
