Reggae/Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, Shatta Wale will appear before the Accra Circuit Court in Accra today to respond to the charge of publication of fake news levelled against him by the state.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah on October 19, turned himself in after the police had declared him wanted for allegedly fabricating a story that he had been shot and receiving treatment, which turned out to be a prank.
He has since been charged for publishing fake news.
The dancehall artiste who has recently been in the news after finding a new lover is expected to appear in court with him.
The fair lady and other family members will be there to offer him the needed support.
Medikal who was arrested for brandishing a weapon on social media will also make an appearance. The rapper born, Samuel Adu Frimpong, was charged for unlawful display of arms and ammunition.
Although the duo pleaded not guilty to their respective charges when they made their first appearances in court, the court refused them bail.
Shatta Wale was remanded into prison custody for one week, while his industry mate, Medikal, was in police custody for five days.
