The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has created a new ministerial position in his administration.

The new position has been created at the office of the Vice President and will be occupied by former Zongo and Inner City Development Minister, Abubakar Saddique Boniface.

His position has been taken over by former Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid.

Having a Minister of state stationed at the office of the former Vice President is new in Ghana’s politics.

Many have wondered the exact role the Minister will be playing at the office of the second gentleman.

President Akufo-Addo has been criticised by many for being the President with the highest number of Ministers in the fourth republic.

Thus, many expected that the number will be downsized in the first reshuffle which was released today.

However, the President decided to create a new position.
