Fast-rising Ghanaian dancehall artiste Derrick Obobbie Junior known in showbiz as J Derobie has rubbished the call to stop sports betting in Ghana.

According to him, betting is good and has therefore minimize armed robbery.

Security Analyst of Ibard Consult, Irbad Ibraham through his Facebook sent a message across to the government concerning betting, gaming and the hope of Ghanaian youth.

According to Mr. Ibard Ibrahim, Government Should Shut Down all Sports Betting Centers and give hope to our youth through education.

He said, sports betting centers are up to no good considering how wild they are diffusing across the country, the betting companies will only create generation after generation of unskilled and uneducated youth who will become a liability on the State.

In an interview with Prince Benjamin, the host of Class Drive on Class Fm, J Derobie advised the youth to venture into sports betting.

“Even if the youth would say bye to betting its not easy to say bye because when they bet, they get something and betting is good because it has helped most of the youth, it has pushed most of them from stealing and if not for the sake of betting some of the youth end up being on the streets stealing”
