The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has asked the 2020 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani to stop behaving like American President Donald Trump who has refused to accept defeat in the US elections.
Mr Trump has accused his opponent Joe Biden of rigging the polls and refused to concede after he lost the U.S election.
In a similar situation, the presidential candidate of the NDC, John Mahama has also refused to concede defeat to President Akufo-Addo following the Electoral Commission’s declaration.
The EC declared President Akufo-Addo winner with the percentage votes of 51.302 leading Mr Mahama who had a percentage of 47.359.
However, the former President has refused to concede and accused the EC of rigging the polls for the incumbent President.
In response, John Boadu reiterated his party won the December 7 polls fair and legitimately. He continued that, Mr. Mahama should take a lesson from Donald Trump and go to court.
“Why didn’t John Mahama take immediate lessons from Donald Trump? The Electoral College was 270, the one you contested won, and still he said he won’t concede.
“This is exactly what Mahama is doing. He should stop behaving like Donald Trump,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Boadu said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will contest some of the parliamentary results in court especially Banda Constituency.
He’s optimistic the Sene West parliamentary seat will come to their side after the dispute is resolved. This, he referred to as “Bonus seat”
