National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has warned the party’s executives across the country to stop being complacent and work towards the party’s victory in the 2020 elections.

According to him, the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is poised for victory in the 2020 elections and ought to be considered as a ‘serious contender’.

Mr Awuku said this when he led National Executives of the governing NPP to meet the leadership of the party in the Upper West Region as part of the processes to retain power in 2020.

The team has been engaging the Upper West regional leadership of the party and vibrant groups within the party on how to effectively strategise for election 2020.

Mr. Awuku addressing a section of the media, described the atmosphere as one that smacks of absolute determination and commitment by the teeming party leadership and members, to work hard for a convincing victory for the NPP in the 2020 elections.

‘’The team spirit exhibited by our party folks was awesome with a great sense of Commitment for the task ahead in 2020,’’ he said.

He added that at the core of the national leadership’s message to the party leadership across the country, is the fact that they should eschew complacency and also regard the opposition National Democratic Congress as a serious contender.

He said the team will be touching base with the rest of the leaders across the Northern part of the country with a firm conviction that the NPP will be prepared for a spirited 2020 campaign.

Sammi Awuku is accompanied by the National Women’s Organiser, Kate Gyamfuah and the National Youth Organiser Henry Nana Boakye.

The team which also includes the National Nasara Coordinator, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has already been to Bole and Sawla in the Northern Region and Wa in the Upper West Region.
