A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has rallied his support behind LGBTQI members, saying that the hate people have for them ought to stop.
His admonition follows the mixed reaction that and concerns raised by the public, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and religious bodies including the Catholic Bishops’ conference that have greeted the opening of an LGBTQI office in Accra.
The group officially commissioned its first office in Accra with the support of several International bodies including the European Commission.
According to him, one must not be a pro-gay but only human to appreciate the situation gays and lesbians find themselves.
Gabby in a social media post sighted by GhanaNewsPage.Com, stated that citizens must be careful not to generate an intense hate against homosexuals.
According to him, “they can speak for the law and culture” without adding hate.
“You don’t have to be pro-gay to appreciate their situation. You only have to human. Let us be careful and not to generate an intense hate campaign against homosexuals. You can speak for the law and ‘ culture’ minus hate” Gabby Otchere posted.
You don’t have to be pro-gay to appreciate their situation. You only have to be human. Let us be careful and not generate an intense hate campaign against homosexuals. You can speak for the law and ‘culture’ minus hate. Hate sucks!
