GhanaNewsPage.Com has gathered that some Members of Parliament (MPs) are busily working to garner support for former President John Mahama’s second term bid in exchange for appointment in his administration.
The former President, GhanaNewsPage.Com gathered has started promising certain key persons in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) political appointments in exchange for their support.

These people include National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs), persons who were once or wanted to be DCEs but never had the opportunity and other key people within the NDC.
Former Consul General to Dubai under the John Mahama regime, Daniel Osei, who disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said the former President adopted that strategy because he has increasingly become unpopular within the NDC.
“Even as we speak now, Mahama is telling people, support me, I will make you Minister, I will make you DCE etc, just to get their support…,” he said.
Even before President Mahama declares his intention to contest the flagbearership race of the NDC, there is a grand swell of endorsements for his candidature.
Some Minority Members of Parliament are collating signatures and even contributing money to support former President Mahama’s campaign.
A few days ago, it emerged that some 94 Members of Parliament had endorsed former President Mahama as its Flagbearer for the 2020 polls.
The MPs led by Dr Clement Apaak and Abu Jinapor are convinced the NDC can come back to power if Mr Mahama is made flagbearer.
The former Consul General claimed the promise of political appointment is what is causing these Legislators to embark on such move.
