The first stretch of the 2019/20 LaLiga Santander campaign has seen several young players impressing with their performances and stealing the spotlight from already established stars.

Alongside them there is a coach whose team have been the revelation of the league so far this season.

MARCA presents you the seven players and one tactician who have made a breakout impact over the first eight matchdays.

Ansu Fati

At the age of 16 he has managed to sneak into Barcelona‘s starting line-up and get as many as 172 minutes of playing time, scoring two goals before picking up an injury.

Fede Valverde

Zinedine Zidane handed him the opportunity to feature in Real Madrid‘s starting line-up and Valverde grabbed it immediately.

The 21-year-old midfielder has played 262 minutes so far this season and he has impressed with his determination on the pitch, especially against Granada.

Unai Simon

Athletic Club‘s goalkeeper has started all but one game so far this season.

No LaLiga team has conceded fewer goals than the Basques, whose defence has been breached only four times.

Pau Torres

Robert Moreno has called the 22-year-old up for Spain‘s games against Sweden and Norway.

The left-sided centre-back returned to Villarreal in summer after a loan spell at Malaga and he has recently renewed his contract until 2024.

Martin Odegaard

One of LaLiga’s top performers this season, the Real Madrid loanee has scored two goals and assisted another two in eight games so far this season at Real Sociedad, enough to earn him the September player of the month award.

Mohammed Salisu

The 20-year-old has become a pillar of Real Valladolid‘s defence in his first season as a starter in the Spanish top flight.

Both his physique and his talent point to a player whose potential is huge.

Diego Martinez

His Granada side sit fourth in the league table behind the top three.

They have managed to beat Barcelona and look Real Madrid in the eye in the 38-year-old’s debut as a coach in the Spanish top tier.

Sergio Reguilon

He was loaned out by Real Madrid to Sevilla in the summer and he has already won over the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

In his 559 minutes in the league, he has scored a goal and assisted another one.
