The Kumasi Asante Kotoko team set off from Accra immediately after the defeat to Inter Allies to prepare for the El Classico match with Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The Kotoko bus with registration number, GT 4327-16 crashed into a stationary Rhino truck carrying fertilizer at the Nkawkaw by pass.
Several of the officials of the team including the Coach, his Assistant, the driver and some players were seriously injured and had to be rushed from the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw to Komfo Anokye teaching Hospital (KATH).
Players like Baba Mahama and Ashietey Ollenu were also seriously injured with the former falling unconscious. He has however been revived and responding to treatment.
