Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo has encouraged the nation to keep hope alive in the face of the increasing Coronavirus infections in the country.
“This too shall pass. God bless our homeland Ghana…,” he concluded during a 3rd live broadcast to the nation.
The President also announced several measures put in place by the government of the West African to contain the epidemic which is causing havoc across the globe.
These measures include the closure of the nation’s borders, land, sea and air, to human traffic from midnight of 22nd March, 2020.
“All our borders, land, sea, and air will be closed to human traffic for the next 2 weeks beginning midnight on Sunday…,” he said.
He further instituted a day for fasting and prayers.
“I urge everyone to seek the face of God. I thank the men and women who prayed with me on Thursday and with the vice president on Friday for their intervention.
“I will plead with Ghanaians, both Muslims and Christians to observe a national day of fasting and prayers on Wednesday, 25th March, 2020…,” the President said during a national broadcast.
