Information reaching GhanaNewsPage.Com is that the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has shut down due to the lack of crude oil which serves as raw material for the refinery

A close source at the nation’s only oil refinery told GhanaNewsPage.Com has occurred due to the inability of TOR to raise its own Letters of Credit (LOCs) to import crude oil into the country.

Checks revealed that the last time TOR managed to import crude was between December 2016 and January 2017.

TOR shut down the Crude oil Distillation Unit (CDU) two weeks ago after it finished processing the remainder of some 2 million barrels of crude it had in stock.
