A tragic accident in Tesano, Greater Accra, resulted in the death of a motorcycle (Okada) rider after a police bus reportedly collided with him. The incident occurred on October 30, 2024, during rush-hour traffic. Eyewitness accounts suggest the police bus driver, aiming to bypass traffic, was driving against the flow of vehicles. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist, traveling from Nsawam toward Accra, could not avoid the bus due to congestion from other vehicles around the Abeka junction, leading to the fatal collision.
Following the accident, the driver of the police bus was detained by police at the Abeka junction, and the victim’s motorcycle was taken to the Tesano Police Station. This incident has sparked significant public outrage on social media, with many criticizing the actions of law enforcement officers who are expected to uphold traffic regulations but, in this case, allegedly acted recklessly.
