Two students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Tanzanian died from an explosion at a Palm Oil Processing Company in Juaben in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday.
The students were doing their industrial attachment with the company.
The three according to report were killed after a tank containing hot water for production exploded while they were working around 9:00am on the said day.
Assembly Member for Abesim-Daaman Electoral Area, Ransford Osei said the three were among eight workers who were working close to the water tank which detonated, battering hot water on them.
The Tanzanian national, he noted was a student who was on an attachment at the company.
He added that the deceased were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
One of the three departed souls according to the Assembly member was identified as a 28-year-old electrician, Paa Kwasi whiles the identity of the other two victims are yet to be announced.
“The cause of the blast at the processing company it not yet known,” he said.
He added that one out of the remaining five who sustained varied degrees of injuries is currently recieving medical attention at KATH while the rest are being examined at the Juaben Government Hospital.
