Two ladies were nearly lynched in the Kumasi suburb of Tafo after they were suspected to be lesbians.

Attempts at lynching the duo occurred after a man accused the two, who were alone in a single room apartment of having carnal knowledge of each other.

An eyewitness, Mr. Joseph Antwi commonly known as “Chairman Joe” told Kofi Asante Ennin of Nhyira FM that a resident in the house raised an alarm about an “unusual noise” from their apartment after two ladies entered.

The incident, which occurred around 8:30pm on Monday evening took over 30 police armed police personnel to control the situation.

This according to eyewitness attracted youth within the area to besieged the house to lynch the two.

However, Tafo Divisional Commander Superintendent David Amoako says the two ladies have been detained for their own security.

Mr. Amoako says no evidence has been provide to substantiate the allegation.

He added that some of his officers’ sustained minor injuries from stones pelted by the irate youth.

The Police is yet to make any arrest.
