Adom FM presenter Michael Boateng, known as Mike 2, has shared his thoughts on the backlash against Afia Pokua Piesie after her comments about Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In a viral segment from Mona Gucci’s show on Onua TV, Pokua Piesie expressed her frustrations over the growing ethnic tensions in the country. While addressing alleged disrespect from some Asantes towards other tribes, she made a controversial remark about the Asantehene, which drew widespread condemnation.
She questioned whether the Asantehene was aware of the hate speech from some of his followers, and her tone sparked anger among many, who felt she disrespected him.
In light of the intense criticism, Afia Pokua Piesie later issued an apology.
In reaction to her apology, Mike 2 criticized Mona Gucci and her producers on social media for their unprofessional approach to the situation. He pointed out their failure to uphold journalistic ethics, especially regarding sensitive legal topics.
Mike 2 also advised hosts and producers to refine their skills and ensure they can effectively manage discussions, keeping them respectful and on track.
