11 March 2021 — Ninety-nine (99) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4603 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases nineteen thousand, nine hundred, and forty-five (19945). To date, eighteen thousand, two hundred, and thirty-six (18236) patients have recovered, including one hundred and eighteen (118) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and thirty-six (1436) and two hundred, and seventy-three (273) deaths.
The new cases are in Ruhango (14), Nyamagabe (13), Kigali City (12), Nyanza (10), Gisagara (8), Nyaruguru (8), Nyamasheke (6), Gicumbi (6), Ngororero (5), Rusizi (5), Rulindo (4), Muhanga (3), Karongi (2), Huye (1), Gakenke (1), and Ngoma (1);heightened vigilance is required everywhere.
The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
