57 hairdressers and Beauticians in the Upper Manya krobo District on Friday 19th July were supported by the Upper Manya krobo District Assembly under the able leadership of Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao, DCE for the area.

These support came as a surprise to all the beneficiaries at grand durbar held at the Asesewa Market Square after 37 members of the Hairdressers and Beauticians Association in District successfully completed a one-week intensive training workshop to improve upon their styles

20 beneficiaries who are mainly hairdressing apprentices received standing hairdryers, 32 beneficiaries who are also Master hairdressers received Hair-Washing Basin whiles 5 beneficiaries who are Barbers all received Berbering equipments sets which comprises of shaving machines, sterilizers among others.

The Hon. DCE in his address congratulated the participants for make it a must to be part of this all important training programme which had been put together by their mother association, Association of Small Scale Industries (ASSI) to improve their cosmetology styles, client care and consultation, Hair care techniques among others keep important lessons in their field of business.

He continued to say that, as the ruling New Patriotic Party is fully committed to transform the country Ghana for the better, that’s why the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government is always ready to support individuals who are doing their own businesses.

The Hon. DCE concluded by informing the gathering that his leadership and other development partners are ready to support the youth in his district to acquire more self employable skills as 29 out-of school girls will commence training by the beginning of August in dressing Making at the Epicentres at Osonson and Konkoney which is the District Assembly and the Hunger Project collaboration.

Mr. Kwame Ampim, Eastern Regional President – ASSI in an interview with the media commended the support given to their members in the Upper Manya krobo District by the Hon. DCE which will serve as a great source of motivation especially to the apprentices who are currently learning different trades thinking of how to establish themselves after the period knowing that the District Assembly really cares about them.

This colourful occasion was grace by executive members of the NPP in the Constituency, officers from the District Assembly and the general public.
