Former President, John Dramani Mahama did not enjoy a warm reception in the Savannah Region on Tuesday when he visited the town as part of his campaign tour to galvanise support for his bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as flagbearer once more.
Persons believed to be supporters of the NDC stormed his campaign venue and demanded that he leaves the venue immediately as he is not welcomed to the West Gonja Municipal capital.
“Away, away, away…,” they shouted amidst clapping and singing on top of their voices to demand that the former Ghanaian leader is escorted out of the town.
Prominent among reasons offered by the gang booing former President Mahama was that he failed to develop the town and the Damango constituency in general when he became President between 2012 and 2016.
The campaign team of the former President is yet to respond to the contents of the video which has since gone viral.
