The lady at the centre of the alleged bribery video of President Akufo-Addo released by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has finally spoken about the entire recording.
Hajia Fawz as she is known in an interview GhanaNewsPage.Com monitored on Asaase FM’s Facebook page said she is shocked that a kind gesture which she undertook in 2016 is being interpreted as a ‘bribe’.
According to her, she is an NPP supporter and decided to donate towards the party’s 2016 campaign.
A shocked Hajia Fawz told the interviewer that she decided to donate an amount of GHC 40,000 and 1,000 T-Shirts after realising that the party was in dire need of resources for their campaigns.
“I had wanted to meet him so someone introduced me to Auntie Ama Busia but she was not feeling well so I met the guy who comes from the same gate in the north as myself…he in turn introduced me to former Ghana Ambassador to Japan, Bawuah who led us to his office…,” she said.
Hajia said the donation was made at the house of the NPP candidate where he had his office.
Hajia claimed she was shocked that the ‘good Samaritan’ who led her to meet the man he admired so much had such ill-motive and recorded the conversation only to use it to blackmail the NPP in 2020.
