The interchange, seen by many as one of the flagship projects of the National Democratic Congress, which could have won them the 2016 elections generated much conversation when it was opened.

A portion of the impressive architectural project has developed a series of potholes which sometimes causes vehicular traffic and is also wearing down some vehicles. Residents, speaking to the Accra-based CITI FM, say the problem began about 3 months ago which a pipe burst underground causing water to gush all over the newly constructed road.

They added further that though they made several calls to the Ghana Water Company Limited to rectify the situation they never arrived leading to the development of the potholes.

Many drivers who ply their trade around the area say they are very frustrated by the development of potholes as they are forced to meander their way through the potholes which causes traffic on the road.

They therefore appealed to the government to come to their aid and fix the road.

The state of the road has made some Ghanaians doubt the amount of money spent on the road. According to one user of social media, the project has to be “one of the biggest frauds” in Ghana.
