A one-day Training workshop was organised by VRA Resettlement Trust Fund secretariat for Town Development Committee Members in the Eastern Region in two separate sessions.

The first training workshop was organised at the Assembly Hall of the New Juaben Municipal Assembly, Koforidua on tuesday 23rd July for 7 resettlement communities as another training workshop was organised at the Asuogyaman District Assembly Hall for 6 resettlement communities on Wednesday 24th July, 2019.

The executive Director of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund, Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng who led the team was impressed about the attendance which he said it’s a serious sign exhibited by TDC members showing their commitment to work with him.

The TDC members were taken through the comprehensive powers given to them by the mandate to serve as a guide in the discharge of their duties as TDC in their various resettlement communities.

In the open Furum discussions session of the training programme, issues regarding Infrastructure development, compensation health,and educational issues came up strongly.

The new executive director of the trust fund, Mr. Twum Barimah convincingly explained some of the issues to them as he assured them of his maximum commitment to help transform the living standards in the VRA resettlement communities in the country.

Mr. Twum continued to list the numerous infrastructure development projects currently ongoing under his leadership in the resettlement areas as a 6-Unit teachers bungalow at Npakadam and a school Canteen at New Senchi both in the Asuogyaman District are ready to be handed over to the user agances on Monday 29th July.

One Mr. Osei from New Oworobong applauded to efforts of the new executive director and the board for initiating this all important training workshop which had equipped them to serve their people better and also work with the Secretariat effectively to bring development to their resettlement communities.

This training program will continue to the other regions in the country to enable the leadership of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund meet with the TDC from all the 52 VRA Resettlement communities in the country.
