“Joshua Alabi is the savior of the NDC. We won’t elect or nominate a leader whom will only come and dance to entertain us. We need serious people to lead the NDC in the 2020 election not president with ‘Edey Bee Keke’ slogan,” he said on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben.
He also added that, “the 94 Minority MPs who have endorsed former president John Mahama ahead of the flagbearer race of the NDC, did so because they were shaken by the prospects of Prof. Joshua Alabi in the race.”
Professor Joshua Alabi is the second flagbearer hopeful to formally inform the party of his decision after former NHIA Boss, Sylvester Mensah.
Presenting his letter at the party headquarters in Accra today [Monday], Professor Alabi promised to run a decorous campaign ahead of the party’s executive elections in December 2018.
So far, former Trades Minister, Spio Garbrah, MP for Nadowli-Kaleo, Alban Bagbin, former NHIS boss, Sylvester Mensah have so far given indications they will contest for NDC’s presidential candidate position.
However, Former President, John Dramani Mahama is tight-lipped over his presidential ambitions with an excuse that he wants to focus on the party’s restructuring and healing process to make the NDC a stronger force in the elections 2020.
