Mahama has done nothing for Zongos to deserve their vote – Ali Suraj

Former deputy organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) USA branch, Alhaji Ali Suraj has wondered why the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama keeps campaigning and appealing for votes from the Zongo community when he barely did anything good for them.

The former Vice President, Alhaji Suraj said in an interview with Angel News lacks the moral right to ask Zongos to vote for him because he can’t boast of a single achievement in Zongos when he was President.

The highest point of humiliation of the Zongos during Mahama’s administration, he said, was the decision to build mortuaries at Zongos instead of offering to develop the human capital in Zongo communities.

“Today, we have people from the various Zongos who have attained the highest level of education including some becoming Doctors and nurses all thanks to support from the Zongo Development Fund and the government…,” he told GhanaNewsPage.Com in an interview.

He added that the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia unlike John Mahama can boast of many accomplishments in the Zongos and hence insisted it will be a travesty of justice if they fail to vote for him.

This, he said include various infrastructure such as interchanges, schools and pitches in various Zongo communities.

“Go to the various Zongos and check the number of quality astro turfs that have been constructed for them…today, they are able to hold gatherings in peace all because of these achievements and you think Ghanaians should over-look it and go for Mahama who did nothing for them?,” he asked.
