Ghanaian pastor Kumchacha has asserts that Asamoah Gyan deliberately missed the infamous penalty during the 2010 World Cup to favor the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.,Speaking on the United Showbiz program on Saturday, Kumchacha argues that Gyan’s support to the NPP led him to intentionally miss the penalty, denying the then-ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) the glory that would have come from Ghana advancing further in the tournament.,“Asamoah Gyan began supporting the NPP not today. He realised that scoring the penalty would have brought more glory to NDC than missing it. He was certain that he would pass over that opportunity in favour of the then-opposition party, the NPP” – he said,Kumchacha’s controversial statements come in response to a recent statement from Gyan, in which the former footballer emphasized that he has no political affiliations. ,Gyan clarifies that his primary focus is contributing to the development of Ghanaian football and empowering the youth through his influence.,In response to Kumchacha’s claim, several football fans and aficionados have expressed their contrasting views, stating that he disrespected Gyan on live television, potentially resulting in defamation charges.
