11 of Ghana’s security agencies have donated GHS1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund. Inspector General of Police Service Christian Tetteh Yohuno spoke on behalf of the security agencies.
He stated that, the donation is an evident that the security services are in support of the president initiatives are ready to support to help fellow Ghanaians who needs health care services since they the security services use the health care services freely.
The Mahama Care Fund, officially known as the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, is a healthcare initiative launched by President John Mahama to support individuals with chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
It aims to provide financial assistance for treatments and medications not covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), particularly for conditions like cancer, stroke, cardiovascular diseases, and kidney failure. The fund will also invest in healthcare infrastructure, equipment, specialist training, and research to improve healthcare delivery.
