Anthony Joshua Crash: Coaches Latz and Sina Die in Tragic

The Janaza (Islamic funeral) prayer for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin Ayodele, two close associates of heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua, has been scheduled to hold in London on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Following the tragic road accident in Nigeria that claimed their lives, the bodies of Ghami and Latif, popularly known as “Latz,” were flown back to the United Kingdom for burial rites. The prayer service is set to begin at 10:00am at the London Central Mosque, located at 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG.

The funeral details were made public in a statement released on Saturday by Boxing King Media, which also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones,” the statement read.

Ghami and Ayodele lost their lives in a fatal car crash on Monday, December 29, 2025, while travelling in Nigeria. The accident occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, around the Makun area of Ogun State, when the Lexus SUV conveying them collided with a stationary truck.

Anthony Joshua, who was also in the vehicle at the time, survived the crash with minor injuries. However, both Ghami, his strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The London funeral is expected to bring together family members, close friends, and figures from the boxing world, as the community gathers to honour the lives and legacy of the two men whose careers were closely tied to Joshua’s journey.
